- Share My RV, Inc. (SMRV) offers privately owned RV rentals. Minimum rental periods vary from 2 to 4 days. Minimum rental period during holidays and special events is 3 days. Pickups and returns are by appointment, but we're flexible. All rentals originate at our Santa Paula, CA location unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Rates are subject to change without notice. 2 and 3 day rental rates slightly higher.
- 60 miles per rental day are included in the rental price. Excess miles are calculated by our software and can range from $.35 to $1.00 per mile. Be sure to let us know what your mileage requirement are so all charges will be correct before you leave on your trip. That way there are no surprises.
- SMRV will provide you with special paperwork, to be given to your insurance company so that they may provide a insurance policy binder covering the RV during your rental period. The completed insurance binder is normally faxed directly from your insurance agent to our office. This is the least expensive way to insure your rental vehicle. If your insurance company does not (most do) allow this kind of an RV rental binder, then contact us regarding a commercial insurance policy. Commercial Rental policies range from $15 to $25 per day on RVs and $8 to $20 for trailers. Renters will be responsible to pay a damage deposit equal to the insurance deductible on any policy used to cover the rental period. Upon the successful completion of the rental period if no damages have occurred, the deposit will be returned. Renter is responsible for ALL damages. Commercial Insurance is only for Vehicle to Vehicle collision as it does not cover any other damages!
- All Motor homes are equipped with a generator and most trailers are not. The first 2 hours of generator usage is included per rental day and excess hours are charged at $3.00 each. The generator is not required for normal vehicle driving operation. Trailers need a generator to charge the batteries and run the appliances. Ask about renting one. Generators will have the oil and fuel levels topped off before each rental. You ARE required to re-fuel the generator prior to returning. We charge $4.50 per gallon if you do not re-fuel prior to your return.
- Interior Cleaning Charges: Starting at $75 up to $300 if unit is not returned clean.
- All of our motor homes and travel trailers are non-smoking units. An additional fee of up to $500 will be charged for motor homes or trailers returned with any type of odor including camp fire smoke. Do not use incense, candles or any product with an odor.
- Most RVs do allow (approved) Dogs. Sorry, NO CATS! If we approve the dog, there will be a Pet Fee of $125. After you are done cleaning up after your pet, there needs be be NO visible sign there was ever a pet in the RV. Therefore, you MUST sweep, remove all pet hair and odor. Otherwise you will be charged extra for the removal of pet hair/odor. You are responsible for any and all damage casued by pets in the RV while it is in your possession. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Cleaning and/or repair fees will be charged for pet hair on furniture or staining or soiling caused by your pet. Please do not try to hide a pet from us, its not worth it. Just pay the fee and clean up properly. Unapproved pet fee starts at $300.
- Other Charges:
- Fuel Charge: The RV must be returned with at least the same amount of fuel as when it was dispatched. Additional fuel will be charged at $4.50 per gallon so please fill it back to the level you received it.
- Delivery Fee: RV and trailer delivery is available starting at $50 plus fuel each way from the dispatch office. Motor Home mileage starts/ends at the dispatch address.
- Trailer Hitch: All motorized RVs will have a trailer hitch lock installed. Towing trailers and other vehicles cause higher then normal wear and tear on the tires and brakes. In order to off set the extra wear you must pay a hitch fee to have the lock removed.
- Customers are responsible for reporting and payment of all parking/traffic violations at rental termination. Non-reporting of parking/traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract and may result in an administrative charge of up to $250 in addition to fines.
- No Re-Supply Policy. The RV's (A, C, Travel Trailers & Toy Haulers, Pop-Ups only have fresh water) come equipped with fresh water, and gray and black holding tanks. If you are camped in a non-hookup site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these resources last your entire stay. We will not provide additional water, holding tank capacity, propane, or batteries during your rental period. Always bring Jumper Cables when you go camping. You can use a car or truck to charge your RV batteries (in case something gets left turned on and runs them down).
- We want you to have a fun RV Trip. During the course of your trip if one or more of the secondary systems are not functioning you are welcome to contact our office. There may be just a switch turned off. Refrigerators, Roof and Central A/C, Heating, Leveling Jacks, TV's, VCR, DVD, Awnings, Slide-Outs, Roof Vents, Step, in-dash A/C, Backup Cameras, Water Heater, Shower, Microwave, Reading Lights and any other RV equipment are all considered secondary systems. If any malfunctions should occur with any of these items, no compensation will be made to you. Many RV's have the manufacture manuals, you are advised to consult this material or call our office. When we locate or are informed that one or more of these systems are not operating properly it is our standard policy to have them fixed prior rental. Non-operating secondary systems do not constitute a refund of any kind. (top)
- In a hurry upon return? Interior cleaning and dumping charges: $149 per trip which includes dumping & sanitizing of holding tanks (it needs to smell good for the next customer), propane refill (labor) and final cleaning.
- House Keeping Kits for up to 4: Includes Linens, towels, bed sheets, bedding & pillows. ( inquire for price )
- Bike Rack: $6 per day. (top)

Deposits & Payments
- A refundable $250 pre-booking fee will hold your RV. $50 will be deducted on all canceled RV bookings with more than 30 days prior to your departure date. Canceled bookings with less than 30 days till the departure date do not receive any refund. This includes but is not limited to: late arrivals, early departures, traffic problems, bad weather conditions or personal emergencies. Its ALWAYS the best policy to inform our office if you even think you may be arriving late. Calling the office does not relieve your responsibility but it may relieve stress on both parties.
- Security/Damage deposits range from $500 on trailers to $1,000 or more for a Class-A and Class-C RVs. The rental damage security deposit is fully refundable and due upon agent request. The deposit will be used towards insurance deductible, damage to the RV and/or any additional fees. All fees must be paid prior to departure. After return check-in (with no damage), the remaining deposit is normally returned the Monday following your Check-In. If there is damage, we may need up to 30 days to obtain estimates and fix the damage. If the damage exceeds the security deposit we will contact the renter and possibly the insurance company to finalize all billing.
- We accept MasterCard and VISA, PayPal, check and cash. All checks must be received no less than 30 days before departure. Credit cards and Cash are accepted at the Rental Center on the day of departure. (top)
Cancellations, Changes, Returns and Extensions
- No Charge for one additional driver. Additional drivers above 2 will be charged a $25 processing fee per driver.
- No refunds will be given for days originally booked but then shortened.
- No refunds given for early returns.
-
Late Returns will be charged a fee of $50 per partial hour up to $250 per day.
Please keep in mind that other renters maybe waiting on the RV that you are bringing in late. It takes our office personnel over 3 hours to get an RV ready for the next rental. RVs do come in and go back out on the same day. Many times we have to call in extra help and/or pay overtime in order to get a late RV ready. It is very hard to move renters from one RV to another since the insurance binder request has to be re-sent and approved by the insurance company. All of this has to be accomplished before the RV can leave the Rental Center. Please do not arrive late. If you know that you are going to be late due to traffic or weather it is your responsibility to call our office. Speaking to the office does not release your responsibility but depending on the situation at least we can try to make other arrangements.
- If you would like to extend your trip please give us a call at the earliest point you are considering the change. Our office staff will have to check and see if your RV is already requested. If the RV is available the agent will advise you of the steps needed to extend your vacation. (top)
